I own and run a surf travel company on Australia’s Gold Coast. My business basically pulls together all the services offered on the Gold Coast that a travelling surfer needs. We then go the extra step of renting our surfboards to our clients, for the duration of their holiday. The idea is simple, we want to ensure our clients have the surfing holiday of their life, without the hassle of sorting out the logistics when they arrive.

One of the great things about this business is I deliver the surfboards myself. This gives me the opportunity to have a brief chat with every surfer coming through the Gold Coast using my services. I really enjoy this part of the business as being a surfer myself, I enjoy the contact with people who have a similar passion to mine. Also, it gives me the opportunity to get into the heads of my clients, so I can understand what their expectations are for their surfing holiday and can continually improve my services based on their desires.

Wii fit is a new device from the Nintendo Wii console. It is a video game offering fun and fitness to the user. The aim of the console is not just to provide just a game but also to help the users to be physical fit. The exercise games have four categories—balance, yoga, strength and aerobic. These provide a core workout movement to the user. All these are played using a Wii Balance Board. It is aimed at providing physical fitness to children and adults alike not by how the user exerts effort but emphasizing instead on controlled movement.

Wii Fit is a new technology from Nintendo. It was released just last December 2007 in Japan while it was released in other regions just last April or May 2008. Being new, not all gadget stores may have Wii fit in stock.

There is much debate about what true fitness is. Is it the person who can run a marathon everyday for a month straight or is it being able to lift 500 pounds off of the floor? Is it having a strong, lean body or being able to turn heads when you walk by at the beach? Is it the professional athlete who can do amazing things with their sport or is it the stay-at-home mom who seems to work endlessly for her family?

As a fitness professional, I’ve reached my own standard of fitness. It may be a bit different then the “industry” definition, however this is how we measure if someone is living the “FIT” lifestyle.
